Description

In the Dark Ages of web design, you were limited to only standard fonts that came with every machine. With the advent of CSS 3, however, you can just include a link to a custom font, and then use that font throughout your site.

The Font Face widget allows you to upload a custom font file. Then just use the name of the custom font in your CSS. 

Here are some suggestions for custom fonts:

  • Make logos responsive. Instead of using an image for your logo, use a custom font. That way, the logo will look right at any size.
  • Draw attention to headlines. A distinctive font will draw the eye. Use custom fonts for headlines or other areas that you want to stand out.
  • Use sparingly. Using too many fonts is a design no-no and it can cause your pages to load slowly. Stick to 1 – 3 custom fonts per site.
