Description

The Search Box is just that: a box that your visitors can use to search a content set. Use this widget in conjunction with the Search Results widget to show your visitors the results of their search.

Here are some places to put a search box:

On every page. Why not put one on every page? Search boxes are last-resort navigation. So don’t make visitors click to a special page before they can search.
On your home page. If your site is primarily support-based, or if it has a lot of content, then put a search box in a prominent place on your home page. That way, visitors can start searching right away.
On a Help page. If you have a specific Help or Support page on your site, add a search box. Frustrated users don’t want to read, so give them every option to narrow down their search.
